Hi,
This is Abeer and Shawg, welcome to Nugطa 🫂
In an endless attempt to become social, we went out and watched a movie this weekend. Each on her own of course (the most social we can be). FREE GUY. and let us just tell you, it was beyond expectations… magnifique, superb, إلى النهاية وما بعدها.. 🚀
We will try to avoid any spoilers, but if any slips, it’s your fault not ours. 🙄 A simple guy named “Guy” used to live in the same box we talked about previously, but was never bothered until an external factor pushed him to rethink his life..
Guy is an NPC, a Non-player character, in the video game Free City, who suddenly becomes the hero due to his realization that he’s much more than a Bank Clerk. 🏙
Behind this masterpiece of a game, are passionate & cool coders that have much more to their lives than the regular real-life coders. Not that we have ever met one… a mere assumption. BLAME THE MEDIA FOR STEREO-TYPES. 📺
One thing we truly admired was the respect shown for the gaming industry pioneers. You can easily tell that gamers were part of the story & production phases. The overall aesthetic replicated a lot of fan favorites such as Fortnite & Grand Theft Auto. The movie also features many Youtube Gamers and Gaming streaming platforms and had hidden Disney easter eggs throughout the movie. 🥚
Knowing us, we analyzed every scene of the movie.
Here are our main takeaways:
Don’t settle even if it seems that it’s the right thing to do 🧙🏻♀️
Believe that you can be anything you want and go after it. *cue inspirational soundtrack*
TikToks of life being a simulation suddenly sink in..
Just like any chick flick movie, the underdogs eventually shine. 🎳 #SydneyWhite
Bubblegum ice cream might be worth trying. 🍧
To be honest our main key takeaway is that Ryan Reyonlds is a genius..
Ryan Reynolds
The man, the myth, the legend.
Of course, just like any normal viewer, we IMDB’d the heck out of each actor, and stumbled upon this very inspiring podcast interview of Ryan Reynolds (click the green text to listen to the episode) 🎧
In the episode, he speaks about how his anxiety developed. His childhood wasn’t the toughest but as he describes it, living with his father was like stepping on a minefield, not knowing when he might explode. This led him to always wanting to predict the future, and to lay down all possible outcomes, which in a way or another contributed to his success.
We appreciate how authentic and real Ryan is, how he seems to have not lost himself in the midst of Hollywood fame. After his failed Green Lantern experience, he became very adamant about taking a seat at the table for the movies/tv shows he was starring in by engaging in the writing, production and marketing of his work. Deadpool is proof of how he reinvented himself. 🪦
He even started a production and a marketing agency which we already applied for obviously..
Speaking of good branding shout out to this AC company for being extremely creative:
Goodbye our friends, goodbye our lovers,
